Cleaning a fireplace insert glass with ash

When the problem becomes the solution ! Yes, no need to look very far when it comes to ashes since they are at hand. Here’s how :

Collect the ashes and soot from your fire in a container ;
Add water to the container to make a thick paste ;
Dip piece of paper towel in batter ;
Rub the glass in circular motions ;
Finish by drying with a paper towel.

Cleaning an insert with tea and newspaper

If you’ve run out of window cleaner, you most likely have tea and newspaper! Here’s what to do:

Fill a container with tea ;
Soak a piece of newspaper (you can also try paper towel) and roll it into a ball ;
Rub the glass with this ball ;
Moisten newspaper and remove the last residues ;
Finish by drying with a paper towel.

Cleaning a fireplace or stove glass with vinegar

Vinegar is the essential product for troubleshooting cleaning. Mixed with water, the vinegar will make the glass shine.

Mix 1/3 vinegar with 2/3 water in a spray bottle ;
Spray the solution on the glass ;
Clean the glass with a paper towel ;
Finish by drying with a paper towel.
