The Fulgurant chimney sweeping log contains an active ingredient that loosens and degrades soot and tar in your stove or fireplace. It is recommended for chimney sweeping at the beginning and end of the heating season or for bi-monthly maintenance. The chimney sweeping log thus optimizes the heating efficiency of your heating system. It is suitable for use in open, closed, masonry or lined chimneys, including stainless steel lined chimneys, and for wood stoves.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- Light the fireplace or heating appliance and maintain a lively fire for about an hour to heat the chimney well and obtain a good bed of embers.
- Remove the log from its cardboard sleeve and place it on the embers without removing it from its paper packaging.
- Allow the log to burn slowly. The smoke emitted will act on the soot and creosote to loosen and destroy them.
Once the log has finished burning, you can reload with fuel. The action of the Fulgurant log continues during subsequent fires: the soot is carried away thanks to the draft, the tar hardens, dries out, and falls into the fireplace a few weeks later.
Frequency of use: Use the chimney sweeping log once or twice a year.
